about
The North America Holocaust Museum Tour
The North America Holocaust Museum Tour is a motorcycle tour that will take us, the Jewish Motorcyclist Alliance (JMA) members, to 21 Holocaust Museums in the USA and Canada. We are recruiting JMA members for each “leg” of the ride. The structure and style of the ride are a combination of “Pony Express” and “Olympic Torch”. Each JMA club will sign up to transport the Circle of Chai art piece, picked out specially for this tour, to take to the next Holocaust Museum.
We have acquired the Circle of Chai art piece representing the Jewish people’s struggle to survive and how we have prevailed to overcome adversity during the past 5,700 years. The Circle of Chai art piece will be passed from one riding club to the next riding club at each museum. At the handoff presentation, representatives of both the media and representatives of the museum will be present. The receiving riding group will then transport the Circle of Chai art piece to the next museum and pass it along to the next group of riders. This process would continue throughout the USA & Canada.
The North America Holocaust Museum Tour is a fundraiser for the museums, an awareness project, and a National PR event for the JMA. The ride will help spotlight these museums within the Jewish community and create a “positive” event for the Jewish people. The North America Holocaust Museum Tour begins June 8, 2025, from Charlotte, NC., and ends in Washington, DC at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum on July 30, 2025.
Description of the Art Piece
The Circle of Chai art piece symbolizes the Jewish people’s struggles over the past 5,700 years. The circular metal sculpture represents the world of the Jewish diaspora which touches each corner of the globe. As you can see the circle is cracked, but it is never broken and even though the Jewish people have been tested throughout time, we have never broken with our faith.
The Tour's Kickoff Leg - Charlotte to Whitwell
Hotels for the Charlotte to Whitwell first leg of the NAHMT are now available for booking. We will be leaving Charlotte after breakfast at Speedway Harley Davidson and riding to Maggie Valley, NC where rooms are available at a discounted rate at the Jonathan Creek Inn, which is the same rate as the AAA or AARP rate. We will be staying there Sunday night, June 8th.
You must call the hotel to book a room (800-577-7812). Just mention the discounted rate for the Jewish Motorcyclist Alliance. You can look at room options on the website. There are other options in the area in case this sells out, which is very possible given the initial interest in this ride. Fell free to explore other nearby hotels.
On Monday night, June 9th, we have a discounted rate at the Holiday Inn Express in Downtown Chattanooga (877-666-3243).
